Anyone watch Glee?
I got to admit that I'm hooked on this show. I'm a big fan of Ryan Murphy's work with Nip/Tuck & I'm pleasantly surprised to see his take on a "musical" comedy.
The writing & wit is top notch and the songs are just freakin' awesome. I don't even like some of the originals, but their versions are so likeable. Anyone else watching this season? The episodes are getting better by the week. |

“That was the most offensive thing I’ve seen in 20 years of teaching — and that includes an elementary school production of Hair.”

Finn: She kind of freaks me out, in a Swim Fan kind of way... and her body is smokin, if you're not into boobs.
*** Sue: I always thought the desire to procreate showed deep personal weakness. *** Sue: When I heard Sandy wanted to write himself into a scene as Queen Cleopatra, I was aroused. And then furious. *** Sue: I'll often yell at homeless people: 'Hey, how is that homelessness working out for you? Try not being homeless for once.' *** Quinn [to Puck]: I had sex with you because you got me drunk on wine coolers and I felt fat that day. But it was a mistake. *** Sue: Caning works! And I think it's about time we did a little more of it right here... yes, we cane! *** Sue: I'm going to ask you to smell your armpits. That's the smell of failure, and it's stinking up my office. *** Finn: I want to do glee. I'm really happy when I perform. Quinn: People think you're gay now, Finn. And you know what that makes me? Your big, gay beard!

I do love the arrangement of their songs. If there's one thing that I noticed in Nip/Tuck & Glee is the wonderful song choices. Murphy has great taste in music.
The last episode was so quotable! Terri to Emma: "Oh sure he's dumb like sand, and his fondue pot of nationalities is gonna open your kids up to a host of genetic diseases..." Sue's journal: "Dear journal, feeling listless again today. It began at dawn when I tried to make a smoothie out of beef bones, breaking my juicer. And then at cheerios practice, disaster! It was unmistakable, it was like spotting the first spark on the Hindenburg. A quiver..that quiver will lose us nationals and without a championship I'll lose my endorsements, and without those endorsements I won't be able to buy my hover craft. Glee club...Everytime I try to destroy that clutch of scab eating mouth breathers it only comes back stronger, like some sexually ambiguous horror movie villain. Here I am about to turn 30, and I've sacrificed everything only to be shanghaied by the bi-curious imacanations of a cabal of doughy misshapen teens. Am I missing something journal? Is it me? of course its not me. Its Will Schuester. What is it about him journal? Is it the arrogant smirk? is it the store bought home perm? You know journal I noticed something yesterday, of course..Its coming clear to me now, if I can't destroy the club I will have to destroy THE MAN!" Last edited by AFC-911; 10-13-2009 at 08:45 PM.. |

The daughter is having me set it up on the DVR so she can see it. End of year softball party during the next episode. Will be interesting to see how good it is.

Last night's episode "Ballads" was freaking hilarious & awesome even though Jane Lynch wasn't featured in it.

The whole bit with Quinn's parents was an out-of-date stereotype, but so are most of the characters on the show... That said, the part where Finn serenades Quinn with "You're Having My Baby" in front of her parents was HILARIOUS.
