1 year and +30 pounds later

It was a year ago this week that I had my last smoke.

I may be a fat sob now, but I don't smoke.

Congratulations man. Now, with some extra energy and life, workout, and shed the #30 and you're good-to-go.

Congrats on quitting the sticks

GETTING HEALTHY HAS MINUSES ALONG WITH THE PLUSSES, DOESN'T IT?
I WAS EITHER DRUNK OR TRYING FOR OVER 50 YEARS. DON'T DO THAT ANY
MORE, BUT IT IS REALLY SOMETHING I MISS. GOOD LUCK. NO, LUCK HAS
NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.......

Was a 50-60 a day smoker 14yrs ago. Went cold turkey overnight. Haven't even had so much as a puff, and my wife still smokes. I will always be a smoker, I just choose not to smoke.
Well done. I put on about the same amount of weight, 12-13kgs. Food tastes so much better!

1 1/2 for me, also gained 35 pounds. Can't say I feel much better but the front porch and computer room doesn't smell like an ashtray anymore.

Congrats to all of you!

It's been a little over 2 years for me as well....

I didn't gain any weight but man can I smell & taste food now!

The down side is I can smell a whole lot of other things that aren't as pleasant as food

Also, after I first quit (6 m/o) I still enjoyed the smell of others smoking, weird, I know, but now, it is absolutely repulsive to me.. I mean I can smell it before others even notice it... I guess it's sort of payback for my 2nd hand smoke others had to endure

If you want to drop some weight, smoking might help.
