Dumb move by the cop. Coulda gotten him killed.

Wonder if he knew the ignition key was on the left side?

One would think it was easier for him to get to.

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but can't the cop just shoot the tires while in there??
I have the utmost respect and I really appreciate what the police do for the service of protection but maybe in this case he was risking too much?

Shoot the tires? He could (should) have shot the driver. Clear case of assault with a deadly weapon (the vehicle) and attempted murder of a peace officer. Both justifiable use of force situations.

I think I would have filled the motor with lead once he started getting away...

I think we have seen this before and it was a stolen car....

Im sorry but there were allot better (safer) choices the cop had than reaching into the car and holding on while accelerating it could have gotten the officer killed . but i guess in the spur of the moment it's hard to act quick.

me either but i would be more adept to using a night stick because there is no lesson learned if they're dead, but a good a$$ beating will be remembered for ever. but that doesn't mean i wouldn't use my gun
