Unlocking cell phone..How to?

I have the unlock code for our ATT Samsung SGH-i617 Blackjack

I followed the directions found here:
Unlock your mobile. Unlock Nokia, unlock samsung, unlock motorola, unlock sony and more

No luck as the directions are vague at best and the cellstore support is completely worthless

Anyone here know how to utilize my unlock code specific for this model cell phone?

I have done this successfully on other cell phones but this one is a biatch

Thanks in advance!!!

You sure they gave you the correct unlock code?

Who gave it to you?

I bought it as I have several others from the cellunlockstore online...

The others have worked perfectly, I can't get this one to work b/c I don't know how to use the unlock #

The instructions are the issue.. they instruct to use either a non-compliant sim card or no sim card at all.. then input the unlock #... But where? The blackjack has multiple places to "put a # in"

I did several google searches, however I missed the one above...

WHICH WORKED!!! :D:D:D:D:D

It was the sequence of #'s needed to enter the network lock entry page in the Blackjack...the rest was simple :)

THANK YOU Masraum, thank you!!!

This saves us $80 a month!!

Cheers

I had my BB World unlocked before I went to London a few weeks ago. I bought a local SIM card and phone # and could call back to LA for about 12 cents/min versus $1.29/minute with the Verizon international plan. How does unlocking a US phone save $80/month if calling domestically? Do you buy a pay as you go SIM card here to use locally with a new phone #?

I have 2 lines at Verizon, one for my BB and one I got for my 18yr old daughter. She lost her phone (for the 4x) and I refused to replace it for the 4x. So I have an extra line un used...my wife's contract expired with ATT so were dropping the worthless ATT and switching over her cell# to my extra line at Verizon.
Btw on our trips out of the country we use pre-paid cards as well as there the best deal...

You back from London? If not have safe travels!
