Great Danes
are great dogs.
But I'd be happy with a mundane Dane. Chi hua, hua, hua! ![]()

I grew up with three. Greatest dogs in the world. If I ever have the space, I plan on getting at least one again.

I've had many breeds through the years, Beagles, Labs, Chows, Malamutes and a Bluetick Coonhound. Rudy is my first Dane and gotta tell you he is the funniest, most loving, gentle dog I've ever had. He is now 3.5 years old, 165lbs - makes us laugh every day.

Absolutely wonderfull breed. I've had two females, one merle (Lindy) and one fawn (Savannah). Gentle, regal giants with the greatest dispositon. Unfortunatley the large breeds do not live long. I lost both of mine < 6 yrs old. First premature heart failure and second developed an auto-immune disease.
We now have two Shih tzu's

Peachy pooches.
Does the Great Dane drool?

Yes. The male is worse. His jowls hang low and fling the stuff a good distance. Females keep to themselves, but do drool and can fling it pretty far with a good head shake too.
