Dump FIOS or give up OT?
Verizon amended their AUP, Acceptable Use Policy.
I have FIOS at home and Verizon at the office. Read Specifically section 2, subsection e), and to some degree subsection f) Specific Examples of AUP Violations. The following are examples of conduct which may lead to termination of your Service. (e) post off-topic information on message boards, chat rooms or social networking sites; (f) engage in conduct that is defamatory, fraudulent, obscene or deceptive; |
So going to Facebook will get you kicked off? WTF? I see this clause getting amended very soon due to a mass exodus of customers....

Either ppl will sign it and ignore it and get booted... Or they will just dump it...

I'm on Verizon dsl. Good luck with them enforcing that. FB has 350M registered users. Verizon isn't going to block it.

Besides, How can something be OT on an OT Forum? By definition, everything in OT is on topic.
Now posting about your 914 on the 911 board is clearly off topic, and will cost you your internet access....... |
Looking at it another way they may be trying to say spamming of boards, chats and social sites is grounds for termination.
If so poorly worded. |
I assumed when I read it that they are saying if you engage in defamatory conversation and statements against them on internet message boards that it's grounds for termination, not simply visiting and making arbitrary posts.
|
Yea, the way I read that is, by posting off-topic you are being an annoyance to some forum or another. Like trying to sell stuff, spamming, etc. on forums.
