A quiet handheld spoon.

Got word that the local gun range had fit the little Walther with a can... Of course we had to go try it out.... Still seems loud though.

No matter what you do to the "spoon" once the bullet breaks the sound barrier it is going to make a crack.
If you want a silent "spoon" you need to get a closed breach .22 (like a bolt, pump or lever) and run CB-Longs through it. I have taken out a lot of critters in my neighborhood where I am not allowed the use of a "spoon"

porsche4life 12-03-2009 02:31 PM

Ya... We were discussing the fact that this was filmed with high powers. and then we went to CCI Stingers.... those make some noise now...

Rick V 12-03-2009 02:39 PM

Come on down this way and try my carry piece, you wanna hear some noise. :)

porsche4life 12-03-2009 02:41 PM

Rick the last handgun I shot was a 357 mag... I know about noise. :D

on2wheels52 12-03-2009 02:44 PM

Seemed about as loud as the case hitting the ground
Jim

And he was in gravel.... It got louder when we stepped back to the concrete....

Oh guys that stone cold killer is my room mate...

Rugar KP90 in 45 acp. It doesn't have that sharp crack of the 357 because it is a subsonic round but it can be a handful. I shoot 185gr JHP with 4gr of bullseye. Dad does my reloading. :)

porsche4life 12-03-2009 02:54 PM

Rick that's a whole lotta gun to be packin...

I can't carry right now... But when I do it will probably be a Walther in the .40 SW variety...

Rick V 12-03-2009 02:56 PM

That Walther .22 would be a decent carry (without the muffler) It isn't always about the size of the lead but where ya put it

porsche4life 12-03-2009 02:58 PM

Ya but you can get the same thing in .380 or .40 that isnt much bigger... and that packs a whole lot more punch

Rick V 12-03-2009 03:00 PM

uh huh

porsche4life 12-03-2009 03:01 PM

Product: PK380 - Black

Product: PPS .40S&W

That's one of the benefits of Idaho. Who needs a silencer?

Sub sonic ammo...single shot .22LR bolt action rifle...about like a balloon pop.

Especially if you never take the little plastic shipping disc out from between the frame and the back of the cylinder. Don't shoot that one much, do we?

targa911S 12-03-2009 04:39 PM

Lol!

Joeaksa 12-03-2009 06:21 PM

Sidney,

How many rounds through the can? If the wipes are getting old it will be loud, especially so with the wrong ammo.

LOL, I leave that in as a safety, but you are correct, it is a brute to shoot except with 44 specials so it doesn't get shot often.

Silencer or anything that looks like one = felony = hard time in
kalifornia and many other states. = cya
