Traveling through Europe/advice

I will be traveling with my son through the following cities in Europe and wanted to get some advice or ideas on the cities we will be visiting. We will be arriving December 27th and traveling through January 7th.
First time visiting and not very familiar with what to expect or what to pack.
Recommended places to see and projected weather conditions would be appreciated. He will has a pretty tight schedule of games but I should be able to break away for some site seeing if they are close by. Getting to P-car museum would be great.

December 28th-29th Pralognan-France
December 30th Yverdon-Les-Bains, Switzerland
January 2nd Germering, Germany
January 3rd Sterzing-Vipiteno, Italy
January Thu Memmingen, Germany
January 6th Ehrwald, Austria

Thanks,
Mike

Don't know how much international travel you do, but seasoned travellers take the minimum necessary in clothing.

Games? Is son in a soccer tournament?

Cool. How old is he? Experience of a lifetime for him, I bet.

Google this locations and find the local tourist board or office web site. They all have one. If you need have google translate the page to english.

All of these areas are similar to Minneapolis in winter climate, so prepare for that.

All have wonderful alpine scenery close by.

You are about 75 miles SE from the Porsche muesem in Stuttgart when you are at Memmingen, Germany.

21 years old playing for a college select team with players from across the country. Will be playing junior teams from the different cities that we are visiting.
Has been playing since he was 4 and is starting to wind down his "career". So this trip is a nice way to phase out.
It is the ultimate road trip for me to see him play.
The last 17 years have been great watching, I just wish I could re-wind the clock and start over.

Maybe grandkids on the horizon to get into the sport...now THAT's where your fun will be for the two of you. Congrats to both of you...it is your achievement and dedication as much as his.

Dress warmly and take several ATM cards. You can withdraw funds from local ATM's. Do not just rely on one in case the machine eats it.

Nice areas and this is a beautiful time to visit Europe.

Thanks... grand kids, now that would be fun. Its funny, over the last few years I have been reminding him that he needs to be thinking about "giving back" to the sport that he has enjoyed all these years. Coaching, reffing or clinics, so hopefully there will be a time he gets that opportunity with a son or daughter.
In the mean time, just getting a job after he graduates is on his mind.
it has been fun!
