For the big band fans here..Ed Shaunnessy kickin' butt!!!
Ran across this gem while checking out Buddy Rich clips. Ed was a little strange, I think but he could play like nobody's business!

a lot of drummers are a little strange, hence the saying; " he marches to a different drummer."

You are right. Some might say I'm a bit "off".

I've been ODing on YouTube drum vids this weekend. I have discovered so many great drummers from all genres it is just amazing.
I knew who they were, being a drummer but never paid much attention to thier work. Simon Phillips is another great one that kicks butt. My folks used to wake me up when Johhny had Buddy or other drummers on the show.

Carson, hell. That was Doc's band and he was great. I forgot how much I used to listen to Doc. The guy had lips. Remember Tommy Newsome? He played the dummy, but you still hear him on the radio around X-mas time. And Buddy Rich. What a class act. Too bad the ticker didn't last,,,he was great. I have a bunch of those old LP's, and I'll never let them go!!!

Anyone know what the medallion that Ed S. wore was about?
Old school "bling"?
