If a car could talk...

I'm thinking this one would have quite a story to tell.

Ford : Mustang:eBay Motors (item 280437101174 end time Dec-20-09 19:12:29 PST)

Schumi 12-13-2009 11:45 PM

those bullet holes went from inside to out of that car...

eeeehhheee....

DanielDudley 12-14-2009 02:08 AM

Bullitt Mustang indeed.

I'd request that they clean ALL that white powder out... and then give me a certified document that this was a drug seizure car....

Looks like a good track car start maybe... I mean its the wrong color and needs some bodywork in a bad way....

That's what I was thinking....or the window was down? Just think, a "Bullitt" without the fake bullet holes some owners apply. No need, when you have real ones...

johnco 12-14-2009 12:01 PM

I've got real bullet holes from the inside thru the door of my 26 ford. it does make you wonder what happened.

Bootleggers....

john70t 12-14-2009 12:09 PM

One of those big bullets didn't penetrate the door, like it was slowed down by something...

herr_oberst 12-14-2009 12:13 PM

I can only assume that the pastor at the Cavalry Family Baptist Center was smuggling drugs in the Bullitt Mustang.

(jokeing)

Paul...I thought Bullit's only came in green...???

Green or black for the '08-'09 models...there were a few "PP" (Pre production) cars in other colors, but this isn't one of them.

Dueller 12-14-2009 12:41 PM

I ran into a guy at the grocery store this weekend...he was in a Mustang CS. "California Special"...I think. Pretty car but had all sorts of do-dads, scoops, lights, stainless interior bits. Thought of how much I like your understated muscle car.

pwd72s 12-14-2009 12:47 PM

The local Ford salesman tried to steer us into a GT model. He finally got it when I told him if I couldn't find a Bullitt, I wasn't going to buy a Mustang.

Kind of the same philosophy I had with the 911...I've never been much for stripes, spoilers, and other "look at me" stuff. Always preferred a car that speaks for itself without gingerbread added.

Yep. And the new Mustangs speak for themselves. They scream "16 y/o kids first car". :D

You must be among the ones pissed at me for dumping a car I got bored with?
If I thought I wanted a Porsche, I'd still have one...so, stuff it!

Huh? I'm fairly new around here. I don't know anything of your history of car ownership.

I do know that every 16 y/o kid around here drives the new Mustangs, along with all the older "kids" wishing they were 16 again (e.g. Mid-life crisis man with the earring(s), or the 30-something thinking he's behind the wheel of a "muscle car").

The Mustang is a "belly-button" car...everybody has one.

In my opinion, as a man ages, his cars (as well as he) should become more sophisticated.

So, by the time you're 80, you should be driving to bingo night in one of these:

Nine oh one...if that's your dream, go for it. It's not my dream. You want a little History? I bought a '72 911S in 1974. I didn't buy it for status or snob appeal. I bought it to drive. Back then, THE Porsche to have for status was the Turbo. Nobody gave a fig about the old early 911S. It was considered obsolete, while Turbo was in.

Unfortunately, much later, the early 911S became "status"...the more coveted my car became, the less I enjoyed driving it. Finally, things came to a head. One night, I got a particularly obnoxious phone call...it began with: "We've decided to buy your car and if a hundred grand isn't enough..." I hung up on the bastard, whoever he was. Then I contacted my dear friend in Istanbul, told him I wanted him to be the next caretaker of my car. We didn't even discuss price for days...let's just say I gave him a half price sale on what is possibly the best unrestored '72S left on the planet. I also got a promise that the car would never leave Turkish soil. My friend is a man of his word. The USA strippers, flippers, and pimps will never get their hands on this car.

All water under the bridge...but here's a link to a thread announcing my decision.
What you don't read in this thread are many posts made by some of the dickheads who helped me make the decision to dump exotic cars. Their trashing on this thread caused it to be closed. Their posts have been deleted.

P-cars and F-cars bore me these days...I'm perfectly happy to be driving a nicely built Ford...and I do mean driving. A car I can park in back of my favorite pool hall and not worry about when I'm playing. Right now, learning to control a cue ball is as important to me as any car that I drive. Just a personal quest to improve my poor skill.

Now I feel it's me who was the fool for hanging with P-cars as long as I did.

Watch your mirrors...;)

Paul is very shy about his Mustang......

On the upside, the blood cleaned up very well from the Ebay Mustang. Sometimes you just gotta' cap a ho.

Thanks for bringing this back on topic. Yeah, I would love knowing "the rest of the story" on this car. :D
