Happy Birthday Elvis

Had he not died on the Throne, he would have been 75 today
There were only about 28 impersonators before he died, this is one of the first 5.

There are so many now that in 2017 years 1 out of 4 will be an Elvis Impersonator

There was a documentary on TCM tonight I had never seen, his rehearsals in LA prior to 1970 Vegas gig. That was a supremely talented dude.

There was a sequence with him riding around the parking lot on a tandem bicycle, with a 911, Fiat 850 spider and a Corvair all right next to each other, which are all cool cars I would not mind having.

RIP King

That said, you know what Elvis's last words were?

Baby, it feels like concrete comin' out

or alternatively,

Baby, I'm going to the readin' room

I have been watching TCM all evening, all Elvis films including concert films..

Having worked with Rick Marino for close to 25 years has given me a good education about the King.
Legion of Elvis Impersonators Long To Be King - ABC News

And the fact that my Mother went to the ver 1st Elvis concert in Jax..

And the eerry last one he did in Jax, sneaking in a tape recorder (she still has the tape).

No offense, but that last pic is pretty crappy, or is it 3-D if I have the right glasses?

Should have given your photographer a shot of booze to diminish the shakes.

I watched some of his old films on TCM and I love the cars he drove and all the others. In Spinout, there were 2 Cobra's, one the famous 98, and a original Grand Sport Corvette, one of 5 built, plus a 250 Ferrari California Spyder, a $7Million dollar car. They were racing around the california countryside not really caring what they ran into. It's fun to see these cars they way they were meant to be driven. In another movie, he drove one of the original Shelby Cobra Daytona coupes. Those were the days.

One of my local picking buddies used to play guitar w/Elvis and still does all of the big "video reunion" concerts (loads of them in Japan). He still has a "gift car" and wears that "TCB" with pride.

Happy birthday Ebbis:
