laptop battery replacement
At 2 years old my wifes Dell Laptops battery has completely crapped out. After a pleasant conversation with Dell she was offered a new battery for $200. The laptop was somewhere around $500 so I am looking for less ridiculous options. Has anyone had success with Ebay batteries? I see listings for less than $30, any recommendations?

Check Amazon.com. I've had luck with their batteries.

I'm in the same position. I bought a Dell laptop July of 08 and now the message pops up that it needs a new battery.

So then its not just me. I have had HP laptops in the past and have never had any issues with batteries. When my wife called Dell she was told the batteries only last 1 year. She smartly thanked the guy for the information and said she wouldnt be buying another Dell.
Just an FYI, as the battery continues to die the computer will become extremely slow, if you take the battery out it will operate at full speed again. |

I a Ebay battery in my HP.......It worked OK and held a charge like the oem, BUT - it never fit quite right. Couldn't get it out when I wanted it out...Fell out when I wanted it in........I'd probably do it again rather than pay the theives!!!!!!!

I did an Ebay battery for a Toshiba notebook. Worked great for about a year. Now only lasts 45 minutes.

I have a Dell laptop that has been collecting dust in my room for 2 years. It's an Inspiron 5150. If it has the same battery you can have it.
