Uno,Uno, Uno...much has changed...

Archery-only hunters can now carry a non-hunting handgun for protection
The October issue of ”Hunting Highlights“ reviewed the legality of carrying a handgun during an archery-only hunt. The rule at that time was that hunters participating in an archery-only hunt could not possess a firearm, even if they had a concealed weapons permit.

Since that time, the Arizona Game and Fish Department has issued a directive allowing hunters participating in an archery-only hunt to carry a non-hunting handgun for personal protection and safety. As a guideline, a non-hunting handgun shall be defined as a handgun with a barrel length of 6 inches or less that does not have a scope or any type of electronic device.

Handguns meeting this definition may be carried during an archery-only hunt for personal protection only. They may not be used to take any species of wildlife while participating in an archery-only hunt."

From 2007, unless it's been rescindedSmileWavy A sign of the times in the southern units.

rickster e-me with your number, i have a number of spoons i have to "function fire" before i give them the "carry blessing".

remember get 200 rds of 3 flavors for proper break in. then get robared. then shoot additional 100-200 after being roguarded and NP3'd.

then ya gots somthing you can literally bet yer ASS ON! when da POO GOES DOWN! sung to the STONES tune when da whip comes down!

vash i might be up for that duty. since yer over to the east of the old pueblo, you have minimal worrys. right along the border in those units you do have to worry ALOT!

vash you guys will be fine, just disable spoon, remove mags/firing pin, whatever and stash in another place thats not obvious and you'll be fine.

WOW HOLY NED! CHEESE AND RICE! thats MUCHO COOL! thanks a million for that info. southern border units have just had too much crap for me despite incredible coues deer and java-ja-leaners down there.

thats is WUNDERBAR!

a 6" smith und vesson .44 mag would then be ALLOWED! and dats whats i GOTS! for that kind of duty.

to show you and dis aint no trapper dan/ranger bob tall tale from the wilderness..........the 57# pig on my wall was hit (3) times with a .308 168gr BTHP and refused to go down. i then shot (2) .357's into his head and he finally said "UNCLE!" they are all teeth and arse-hole. DO NOT CORNER JUAN! they is nasty! and I MEAN FREEKING NASTY!

be in total camo/total scent/eat apples if ya smoke and YOU WILL SMELL THEM when they come around! and I MEAN ITS A NASTY SMELL!

when gutting DO NOT NICK CUT SCRAP PUNCTURE OLFACTORY SCENT GLAND ABOVE TAIL! it looks like a peach pit. if ya do the meat is ruined.

when packing out always bring meat out first before head. azgfd will nail you if ya do it reverse. meat always comes out 1st then rack/head.

OPTICS OPTICS OPTICS ON JAVA-JA-LEENER HUNTS!

Everthing i've shot has been w/in 20 yrds...1 @ 3yds (9 feet)...still took 4 more sticks thru him to go down. 1 right between the eyes, put his head down and arrow stuck in the dirt...the only way he stopped. Buddy made the mistake of shooting juan in a BIG herd, 16-18 of them...was funny to watch, till they were w/in a foot wizzin by his legs:eek: Got down there after the fun subsided, but he had no more bullets left in his bow:D SO MUCH FUN!
