Any other sci-fi geeks here see the teaser episodes for this series? Looks to be a pretty decent remake.

Yeah, I actually remember liking the 80s version, even with its glaring loopholes and cheesy special effects. This one looks to be a lot better done - kind of like BSG in that regard. There's much more emphasis on character issues than shock value (although there's a little of that too).

Coming March 2010. Looking forward to it.

I saw the 80s version, but did not see the new series. Was it any good? Did it get renewed or cancelled?

Supposedly resuming production in Feb-Mar/10.
