Anyone in houston have an FFL source?

Tom (bporsche) needs to receive a package here from out of state.
If you PM me before bedtime tonight, I'll PM you his phone number and you can work things out. I'll be out of town as of tomorrow morning, and out of PM access then...

He just needs a shop with an ffl that treats people right, especially if it's out near clear lake.

Redbeard..hint hint...

Only place I know of is a little shop out on the east side of Baytown, Mom & Pop place out in the country.. can't remember the name of the shop, but very down to earth folks and some of the best custom stocks I have ever seen....

I use Shaw's R&R but it is nowhere near clear lake. Find a local pawn shop that sells firearms. They usually are fine doing transfers. You can also use the resource pages on Gunbroker.

I'd help more, but I'm in Mexico at the moment...

I'll tell him. he's in Jersey sending the rifle so he doesn't have any decent way to search around here to receive it. thanks for the help guys!

I think there is a Gander Mountain near clear lake. They should be able to do a transfer. People who sell new guns for a living, usually hate doing transfers. Big generic shops, and pawn shops, don't mind.

I wonder of a Walmart would do a transfer. They sell guns in Houston. You might also try calling an Academy sports.

Toms getting a spoon? Wonder what...

Most pawn shops will do it... Pretty easy money for them....

If he's shipping it to himself, he shouldn't need an FFL to receive/transfer the weapon. Should just be able to ship it and require his signature for delivery.

Grandpa's old spoon kind of thing, I assume there's an ownership change, but I've never bought a trinket so I don't know what's required. I just know that it's over state lines.

I'll send him a few ideas, he's just being lazy asking for help instead of doing a 5 minute search on his phone :p

I did mention Walmart to him, I assumed they would have a FFL (doesn't "a FFL sound weird? Sounds like it should be "an FFL"...)

Mike do you need us to inundate him with "Lazy Bastid" text messages?

If so I'ma need that number....

If he inherited it/it was gifted to him, ownership has already been transferred and he would simply be mailing it to himself. The smaller Fedex and UPS sites will probably give him some flak, but if he takes it to a hub they should get it all taken care of without a problem. He could also just check it when he flies back. Just needs to be in a case and locked, with a non-TSA lock.

A few details on taking with on a flight. Check the airlines sight, since many have tighter restrictions than TSA. You also need to legally possess the spoon at both ends. If a permit is required at the origin, I wouldn't do it.
