LA car rental for 3 months

I have to go to LA for three months, which means i have to rent a car for that time. Can anyone recommend a long term car rental company ?
Cheers

I think there is a problem telling them you want the car for three months, that might make them into a leasing business. I tell them one month but keep it longer. You will probably get a note from them at about three months.

OK so I got a quote from Direct car rental of $1600 (for 3 months) for a micro compact, but for $2200 I can get the Porsche shipped to CA and back with DAS in a covered trailer and drive her through the 'winter' whilst Im out there. Is there any reason not to spend the extra $600 ?

If it were me, it would be the Porsche, absolutely no doubt. As long as you've got a proper place to keep it overnight, and perhaps work on it if necessary, if something comes up.

I've done this in LA, you get a normal rental car and every 30 days you call to renew it. Very easy.

great idea except for the das part. do a search on them and you will find some stuff that might make you look for another shipper.

enjoy mulholland.

If everything works out perfectly, then the DAS/Porsche idea is great. But if DAS injures your car during shipping... If DAS doesn't pick up or deliver your car on time (and you've got two transports to coordinate)... Personally, I think $2200 for round trip is too good to be true. At least not with the level of service and reliability/accountability you'd want.
