Has anyone ever built a Toy Hauler?
So....I've built a few car trailers and they actually are pretty sturdy. NOW I wanna build a retro style toy hauler......what I need is specs on the steel support frames.
Anyone BTDT? |
Something like this?:

That's nice looking....but I wanna do a trailer....
|
Mike,
Google "how to build a trailer". You'll find something. |
You maybe able to buy one new or certainly used cheaper than building one. Unless you can buy steel and other parts at a discount. I have tried to cost projects like that with no(my) labor cost it still more than I can buy materials. I have a fully equipped steel fab shop to use. I am seeing some nice toy haulers on craigslist. I still wonder how they can make them so cheap?

I think these things are sweet. Not cheap, but sweet.

rouxroux,
Cool pics. I'd like way to get 2 cars to the track, was thinking of an f350 or 450 with the Hodges bed, and using it to pull a trailer. |
Tom....I think it's great to see the "BRE" name out there again!
dad911, I have a friend with a Hodges conversion. Sometimes you can find them used for not too much more than the price of a trailer! |
A nice one just sold on Barrett-Jackson yesterday. Was Boyd's...
|
I think there's a few cool vintage ones for reasonable prices out there for sale now. I recall a Mercedes version somewhere. racingjunk.com maybe?

Mike,
look under RV's for toy haulers : Crankyape.com Bank repo rvs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, atvs, boats, trucks, trailers, go karts, jet skis, sleds, fourwheelers, trailers, motorhomes, rvs. Not exactly what you were asking about, but you might find a deal |
