I have no useful advice for you. But what exactly were you buying that had to be purchased so quickly before your wife got out of the shower?

Depends.

Old house was on the cusp of 3 zip codes.

You had to get the town and zipcode exactly 100% correct or no go.

Sometime I'd get a notice from the post office that they had package that they could not deliver because my house number was too far down the street for that zip code.

So the f'rs knew where I was, knew what the mistake was but would still not deliver.

I had a very nice Harmonica get left at a hotel once on the way to a race weekend, didn't notice until a day or two after I got back and totally unpacked EVERYTHING and asked those I traveled with if they'd seen it. Despite the delay in realizing I didn't have it when I called a week+ after I left it they had it, asked for my address, name, and state, but not zipcode. I made darn sure I also gave them the zipcode -GOOD THING. The package failed to arrive in a few days as expected, in fact, weeks went by, didn't see it. I didn't want to spend the money on replacing it and still have it show up, but finally I gave up and ordered the special edition of what I had. Well...I come home from work, and see the box for the new one on my porch(UPS), I thought'd it'd be funny if I checked the mailbox and the old one had come in to...it had... Why did it take so long? It was addressed to California - not North Carolina. It made it - just took it a long time.

There's hope.
