UpGrading the Camping Trailer!
I liked the old pop-up, but the wifey wanted something a little more weather tight. After camping in Solvang this weekend, I agree. I mean it got down to the mid 40's at night. With the kids gone, this is pretty good. I bought the new one (used) for $8K and am going to sell the old pop-up for $3.4K-$4K. It works well, has A/C, chemical toilet, propane/elec refrigerator, and hot shower and hot and cold water in the sink.
Here is the old http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1262580250.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1262580419.jpg Here is the new http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1262580489.jpg The old one is kind of light and airy and very nice; the new is more closed in, but much warmer when it's cold out. Check out this 1:30 youtube clip on how it opens, it's very cool. YouTube - TrailManor Trailer Set Uphttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1262580856.jpg |
Looks good Hugh.... But once you are that big why not get a full size trailer like a Trail Lite... My folks is about 21ft and pulls easier than my 944 on the car trailer....
|
nice hugh...did the tow vehicle change? what is the weight difference?
i love the pop ups. will be spending several days in one starting end of the week. one of those off-road, fleetwoods. |
The weight is about 300 pounds more. Well within the towing weight of my Highlander with a 3.3L engine. I'm gonna take ownership tomorrow.

Ya I checked out the video... It looks ten fold better than a tent trailer... Which I've spent a few nights in. But I like the full size trailer b/c you can store all you gear in it and don't have to stack... its just easier... If we roll in late there is no set up... just back in the space and sleep in it till first light...
