Chic flicks men enjoy or CineMAN that women like...
You know that nebulous film style where you can't really tell what it is...but almost universally men and women enjoy watching.
My nominations: Bull Durham Dance with a Stranger (For those of you unfamiliar with this british film its the story of Ruth Ellis...a 1950's "B" girl who was the last woman hanged in England for murdering her upper class lover. Set around his sports car racing pursuits.)

My wife loved World's Fastest Indian. Maybe even as much as I did.

'Two Brothers' is a nice film for all, including kids... you might think it's a children's movie, but don't dismiss it...

Bull Durham? Baseball movies suck. Almost as much as Westerns...
Anyway, the last chick flick I thoroughly enjoyed was "The Devil Wears Prada." It's really funny & has a lot of eye candy. |

Maybe one of the finest films I ever watched was a western mini-series! Go figure!

Absolutely. It's brilliant on every level. I can watch it again and again. It's not really a western, it's a beautifully crafted Shakespearean tragedy. Powerful stuff.

Snipe if you watch the movie, the lead woman roll goes from a total wall flower to a strong independent woman in a matter of an hour and a half, chicks dig this

Yeah, i suppose you're right, but it has definite guy elements in it too. I would call RTS a "hybrid."

A fine piece of cinema... one of my faves.
Bill, after you said Titanic was lonnnng and borrrrring, I woulda never guessed you would've "gotten" MJB because it moves pretty slow. But it's for a reason... it gives you time to breathe in what the characters are feeling. Props. Okay, now it's time for you to see Titanic again to see if you can feel it, too. *ducks a kick to the side of the head*

Fk that man. Life is too short...
I have seen Meet Joe Black about a dozen times over the years though. If i see it on cable i usually stop what i'm doing to watch it. I like the premise of the film, and it's well acted, and the chick in it is absofreakinglutely smoking hot. ![]() ![]() |
