Home network question

Anyone know how to open up the UDP port 88 & 3074 as well as the TCP port 3074 on a Linksys WRT54G.

My son has a new game for the Xbox360 and it will not run while he is online. They say I need to open up these ports. Read what I could in the manual before my eyes crossed and glazed over................

Thanks for the help.

Is this what your looking for? Log into the router and add the settings under applications and gaming:

That last number should be the address of the Xbox. If your Xbox is setup to get it’s address dynamically, you may need to change it to a manual address and then put that address in the router.

Not sure how the xbox is set up will have to look into that one tonight. It might turn out to be just the game. I found a thread on the EA site and I am not alone in this quest to make the game work.

Or, you could setup a reservation so the xbox/game always gets the same address without having to make the address static/hardcoded.

Actually, nevermind. I have a wr54tg now. I thought it supported reservations, but it doesn't. It must have been my previous wireless router that would allow reservations.

Thanks for the help guys but no joy. Its either blocked at the DSL modem or at the AT&T end. The game just won't connect. I will try to get at the DSL modem this weekend. I hate doing that cause its touchy and the wife depends on it for her work.

Thanks again.
