Commute reimbursement
I didn't want to hack mike's thread so I'll just start my own.
I drive quite a long commute ~50 miles each way. Is there anything that the IRS offer's in the form of a reimbursment?SmileWavy Rick lee's comment: Quote:

Move. If over 50 miles can file for relocation credit. See IRS pub 521: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p521.pdf

I wonder if they have any openings for a jr geologist...wait a second why on earth would I want to move to okyhoma.
|
Cuz I'm here and the rents cheap and there be college tail running around in droves.
|
I moved 2400 miles in 2008 for work and couldn't write it off because the total expenses were way less than the standard deduction and I didn't have enough other write-offs to make itemizing worthwhile. My rental income washed out my mortgage int., prop. taxes and depreciation.
