I had people telling me I should clunk my truck, I laughed at them. My truck will be around after a lot of those new enviro-tard wagons have expired.

Anyone that thinks it's no big deal that hand made German cars are being destroyed has holes in their head IMO. |

Sure, the new car dealers were playing those, "No credit, no problem!" commercials like crazy during C4C.
C4C was just a fake, government created short-term bubble that inadvertantly devastated the used car industry. |

And the after-market auto parts industry.

You don't know that it was in bad shape. A lot of the C4C cars were in excellent shape. Who cares what the blue book value is? My 928 doesn't have a high blue book value, but is a better, more exciting car than 90% of the crap being made today. It will still be around long after most of the C4C new cars that were sold are long gone too.
C4C was a total disaster on every level. The only thing it was successful at was providing yet another example about the evils of the law of unintended consequences. C4C laid waste to or significantly weakened whole industries (used car sales, used parts sales, and repair shops), and took poor people out of cars that were paid off and they could afford, and put them into cars that will soon be taken. All that, for what end? Seriously....what was the point? To help repo men? |
