Cheap online Mossberg Dealer?

My dad is looking at Mossberg 500 in .410, Walmart has one for about $250. Anybody know if that price can be beat online? I know about the FFL fees... Got that taken care of....

They wholesale for $230, even with your Pelican discount I don't think I could put one in your hands for $250. The advantages of buying in quantity are considerable.

Even if you can get it for $30 less elsewhere, why hassle with the long distance purchase if you can walk up to a counter in a store right there? I wouldn't bother unless we are talking $100 or more.

Why would any adult male or female buy a .410? My daughters when they were teens and weighed maybe 90 lbs could handle my Mossberg 500 12 ga.

Tim, I am actually in the market for a .410 right now. I can't stand shooting 12 gauge for trap. MUCH more difficult to go 25-25 with .410.

My brother has a collection of 300+ longguns and 100+ pistols and he really enjoys shooting .410's in skeet/sporting clays and quail hunting for the personal challenge. On plantation quail hunts he even uses 2 1/2" shells with a vintage model 12 winchester to level the playing field.. On the range he uses a Kreghoff (sp?) o/u that he has with a matched set of barrels chambered in 12/20/28/.410 that is a sweet gun. Sometimes bumps up to 28 ga for sporting clays.

Just get him a Rossi 410/22 combo for $130 at Academy or Yildiz 410 single shot for $120. They have the Mossberg 410 pump for $240

Jim I had found a break over for 100 even... He wants more than one shot and he's a man that wants what he wants....

Oh I had one of those Rossi's in 20/.22 That 20 would break your arm and the .22 wasn't that accurate.....

Skill. Top skeet and trap shooters use either .410 or 28 gauge shotguns....because even a 20 is too easy for them.

Don't buy a Mossberg !

Savage 410/ 22LR Combo they are marginal quality as well, but more versatile.

Mossberg's are considered bottom end. However, they are also 100% fully functional. The only issue i have with them is that the pump action will bind up if you pump it too fast.

I had one in the Army, it was a perfectly useful weapon. I have been thinking about getting a 12gauge anyway, that $187 new price at Wal Mart just sold me.

I know no one asked, but if anyone is ever in the market for a riot gun, i was absolutely in freakin-love with my Berreta 1201FP.

It utilizes the Benelli recoil operated action, but is made under license by Beretta. AWESOME weapon, and costs about 40% LESS than the famous Benelli it is patterned after.

Mossberg 500, Remington 870..... both function just fine. Thousands of each have served their owners with years of troublefree basic 12 ga pump shotgun service.

PS, I understand collectors and gun afficianados (and apparently trap/skeet guys) include .410 in their collections, I just find it odd when folks who want a basic home defense or varmint shotgun pick a .410 vs a 12 ga.
