Haiti - vultures are circling - Aristide wants to return

So the vultures are starting to circle Haiti.

Aristide wants to return to Haiti:

After being ousted in 2004 and riding on the backs of SA taxpayers ever since, now all a sudden he wants to return?

Cheap politicking and empty words from a former dictator, if you ask me. But please go back so I can stop paying for your luxury lifestyle in exile, Mr Former President...

Strange how our gov is suddenly so eager to get involved in the rescue mission too heh?

ODDJOB UNO 01-15-2010 04:48 AM

you do realize from a historical sense the u.s. marines have bean there numerous times over the years for poor behavior on the lokals part.

we have factions,we have no infrastructure at all, the port cranes are junk now so no exports let alone smooth imports,we have guns, we have haiti listed as 1 of 4 MAIN PIPELINES for drugs entering u.s., the u.s. state dept list on the traveling to haiti when times were good(?) is about as long as my arm and leg, and now we have total devastation from an earthquake.......................

doesnt take rocket science to come up with KAOS on a very large scale.

LeRoux Strydom 01-15-2010 04:57 AM

Your point about chaos is relevant. I suspect Aristide wants to exploit the chaos more than anything else, perhaps with a sub-agenda to get back in power?

Whatever, dude, just get out of my backyard and off my payroll !! SmileWavy

Subtext: Aristide has been living in South Africa the past few years as a guest of the SA gov (i.e. the taxpayers). Why we had to give asylum to a deposed dictator, I can't honestly say.

.

Why is riding on the back of SA taxpayers? I thought he cleaned out the bank before he left.

There is always more straightening up to do, for the people.

SA should be thankful for the opportunity to aid and abet...

BTW, does anyone have a lead on a respectable relief organization I can send money to?

I am working the Catholic Relief folks but I am interested in any other suggestions. Our local Catholic folks are great...please don't comment or move to PARF, but they are willing to WORK and not type invectives on their computers.

The best thing any of us could do for haiti is let their population contract to a more sustainable size. IOW, don't send any money...

My Co-worker was just informed that his parents neighbour, a retired nurse went there to do some charity work and 90 minutes after getting off the plane was killed in the Quake.
