Discharge of firearm in house defense?

Does anyone here know if it's legal to shoot a mouse if it's in the garage? We live in GA, so I'm thinking that it's probably mandatory . . . but living in an incorporated area sometimes means no shooting. I'd hate to shoot holes in the cars, tools- and possible the mouse- just to end up in the pokey.

For all of you animal lovers out there, I tried a rather humane 'Duct Tape' trapping method but the bastard was able to run across it with ease. If I can't shoot him, the plan is to feed him so much that his belly drags the ground and gets caught on the tape.

Not legal in most places remotely resembling a city.

Old fashioned mouse traps with peanut butter on a crazy glued on piece of cat food on the trigger mechanism work extremely well. Trust me. >:}

my luckiest "shot" ever.....was in my dad's shop with a blowgun. literally speared a mouse from 15 feet away. ...impaled him to the wall. no joke.

Why not use a pellet gun? Much quieter, and you can always claim you were using a pneumatic nailer.

But really, the traditional spring mouse trap is the best.

We have a hungry cat so it's not an issue. The people have them in the garage all the time and it's been fun with a paintball gun over there!

Dang! Wonder what he'd think of the electric leaf blower? I should bait it with peanut butter and crackers and wait for him to crawl inside . . .

I worked in a feed store. Our "fun" was catching the mice and rats that liked to chew up the bags of feed, hump each other and have the litter in the feed. Once a month we had to rotate the stock and dispose of said critters.

We had this guy named Dave(no joke) that was kind of a loner and strange. He always wore overalls and carried a claw hammer.

One day, he was on a ladder doing something and I was at the bottom holding it steady. All of a sudden, he grabs the hammer and hurls it across the room, probably 20 or 25 feet.I thought he was seeing if I was awake or something.

He climbs down and says "let's go take a look." Gee, ok, Mr crazy with overalls and a claw hammer.

Holy crap!!!! He had killed a rat dead in it's tracks!!!

"That's why I always carry a hammer with me".

I gave him a wide berth after that adventure.

There's a few things to consider.

1. Have you even seen him? How long are you willing to sit in the garage and wait to see him?

2. Get a Daisy. It's a mouse.

Absolutely legal, but only if you use a .45 or a 12 gauge.

Really, mouse traps work.

I've been matching wits with him for so long today that I'd hate to stoop to conventional methods. I have seen him several times but people are still asking me if I am certain that I saw him . . . I'm not quite sure how to take that.

My wife decided to go to bed early so opening the garage and launching the rat might wake her up in an unhappy mood. She wasn't really all that happy when she went upstairs, anyway, having been alone for the afternoon while I stood silently in the middle of the garage waiting for the bastard to show his head.
