Yep, sounds just like Jimmy... if so, the motor likely came from one of a few victims in SF.

Try getting a refund out of PayPal. Would rather pull teeth or pay taxes. If you have you are one of the few....

They are absolutely ruthless with the buyer protection when the transaction is done through the ebay/paypal channels. It hasn't happened to me, but I have a friend who had a dispute filed against him for a high dollar vintage guitar 10 months after the auction sale. Even though the buyer had sent numerous emails to my friend stating he was happy with the item, he was able to file and win the dispute after developing a case of buyers remorse when the vintage guitar market crashed last year. Paypal refunded the buyer's money and did the chargeback on my friends account.

Richard Kreiger in San Francisco

Hey pal, did you ever resolve the issue with Richard Kreiger in San Fran? I am in talks with him and am doing due diligence. Thx

Juan

My issue was resolved in that I received a full refund from eBay/PayPal. While lots of folks speculated over the identity of the scammer, I never found out more about him. . . Almost certain he never used a real name w/me. Ahhhhh the memories of being scammed. . . that experience took a few years off my life for sure.

As for Richard Kreiger, I believe he is mentioned in more than one thread. I'd do some further searching.

Great news, Tom. Glad you were made whole. Sounds like the guy had it figured out and let EBay take the hits. I'm in the East Bay if you ever need a contact out this way again. I've bought several pistons/cylinders from you, and I'd love to help you out if you ever need it.

Glad it worked out 4U........i have no faith in Ebay or Paypal regarding any dispute.........I often deal with them regarding "Trademark" issues........Worthless IMO

Juan,

Don't walk but RUN from any dealings with that guy. Do a search for his name and business on this board and google it too ...

I have personal experience too. He tried to get me to buy fake Fuchs off him claiming they were genuine. Great liar ... like any good scammer, he will set you up thinking you are getting a great deal ... that little greed and excitement on your end will get you to let your guard down ... done!

Edit: His first name is not Richard but Wayne. Of course he may change that readily ...

Remember... we never found the two storage rooms full of stolen P-car parts from our friend Jimmy...

Drdogface 11-21-2012 06:40 AM

Actually, Joe, I had not recalled that. I hope that skunk is rotting in jail and has a lot of Johnsons to eat... Couldn't happen to a nicer guy...

I always always always use a credit card when buying on the inter-webs. Especially with paypal.
That way if it goes bad I call up the credit card company and tell them I didn't recieve what I paid for, and they kill the charges.

no hassle, no stress.

How's this for a Ironic / Sad / Funny / Stupid story...............back in 06 when Krieger was "building" my 911 engine, I hired Deering to do so work on my 73 914. Deering was lobbying me to let him "build" my 911 engine, ha.

Summary: The Krieger "built" engine was over 1+ years late ( every excuse known to mankind ) and a giant pile of crap. The 914 ran great before the Deering work and ran like crap immediately after he was done.

Concerning the 911 engine, I had to completely start over. According to Krieger, " Early 911's don't make good oil pressure". Well, my engine now is fantastic and makes very good OP. Doesn't leak either.

The Krieger "engine build" is where that old joke started. How does a guy add oil to a Krieger "built" engine????? Pour the oil on top of the engine and let it leak in.

There are so many stories out there, including my own, involving Jimmy and other crooks that I suspect they will never end. We have only heard a small percentage of them...

azasadny 11-22-2012 05:21 AM

I'm glad this was taken care of and I feel bad that you got "taken"... I've been on eBay for 13+ years and have never had a bad experience but I've heard about many on this forum...
