Cool Porsche stuff in Las vegas...?
Hey guys,
I just received the news that I'll be in Las Vegas for work for a week or 2 in January... Since I'm always on the lookout for interesting Porsche related stuff, maybe to do some photoshoots too, does anyone know of any good cars, shops, events, or anything else in Vegas..? Thanks! |

I'm more looking for rare classic 911's with good stories behind 'em, and lots of history. Or rare racecars with interesting history...
Nice R-gruppe style 911's are on my list also, and it would also be cool to check out some ultra high tech, new 911 stuff... |

![]() I was in Las Vegas in May but can't help you regarding classic 911 stuff ... However, as Classic said, I also went to the Las Vegas Speedway via Exotics Racing and drove the 991 Carrera S on track with them. Very nice experience and they really let you go all out (certainly if you tell them you have a 911 yourself ...) My goal was to compare my old SC to the 991 and apart from there being no comparison in any way, I still prefer the old dog ![]() The 991 was fast though ... But relatively easy |

I have spent quite a bit of time in Vegas and not really aware of a lot of older 911 stuff there...
There is this collection that has some nice 911 examples in it.. Auto Collections | Imperial Palace Las Vegas

Like Paneral said, the Imperial museum is good and often has some nice vintage 911's but I don't know of any place dedicated to 911's. Outside the 911 universe though, the Cobra factory is located in LV and it has a small museum of very nice Shelby and Cobra stuff. Have a good trip.

What are you going to Vegas for? CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is there the second week, I go to that every year... going to drive my 911 out there one of these trips, but again this year just no time :-(
NPC: Make sure you check out the old downtown (Fremont st) at night; the video screen above the boardwalk is amazing. Only in the US do we put super computers to such good use. Chuck.H '89 TurboLookTarga, 342k miles |

I've been to Vegas a bunch of times.... Seen old town before.. Bad memories to this city... My whole bag with camera equipment once got stolen there. But, we had some GOOD times too!
Anyways, this time I'll be there for Red Flag at Nellis Air Force Base.. |

Touch bases with Tony at Carl's Place (AKA 900 Series Motor Sports, 3043 Meade Ave - 702-876-7982). In my humble opinion, it's the premier independent Porsche repair/restoration shop in the area. He usually has some nice projects in the works. He also has his street/track 911 that he often drives to NorCal for events.
900 Series Motor Sports Inc., DBA Carl†It would be a sin not to pay a visit to Shelby Enterprises near the speedway. Their collection of his work is impressive.

There are some guys with some nice cool cars here, not aware of any with the cache of a say Magnus car, but the nature sights are great here with a ride up to redrock or to mt. Charlston.
If you could have a nice photo-shoot at redrock with some Magnus cars I couldn't think of much better than that. Vegas is devoid of much culture so don't expect much of anything with culture focus.

The Shelby Museum is your best bet. It is only a mile or two from Nellis. Carl's Place is a great shop and is a good start. The Prime Rib at Jerry's Nugget (also close to Nellis) is a good bet for great food cheap.

+1 for all of the above.
If we can make it work I can give you the Red Rock Canyon tour on my 930, is old but not a classic by any means.
