The Million Dollar Quartet in Chicago
Wow! I saw this rock musical at the Apollo in Chicago last week and was blown away. I'm not into rockabilly, country or Johnny Cash but I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I highly recommend it. It's basically a concert/jam session by some very talented musicians/actors/impersonators of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. The JLL and Perkins impersonators were amazing! The background story is about the one and only time those four music icons got together in a studio - Sun Records - before they went their separate ways. Here's a YouTube.

If you want to see a real show, go see Pink Martini.
Big band swing, classy dame up front center, international flare, etc. They do everything well. |
