Personally, I like the middle option. Are looking to get a distribution deal? You'd need a barcode for that, don't forget. And also to register yourself with ASCAP etc.
Good luck.

I like the first one. I especially like the shadow of the banister.

Cool

you are asking for opinions
well i have a lot of them
for this scenario i would suggest the first pic with an addition of a hottie(read attractive girl) descending the steps.
if you are lacking in hotties i have a couple that may be available
the advantage of the descending steps is that it draws people in
subliminal thing kind of like you wanting a hottie having read about them

How about the first one with you sitting against the wall at the bottom of the steps? Guitar in hand, look of contemplation or concentration. Don't know if you can find one in your location but another thought is: In the larger citys the storefronts used to have elevators that came up from the ground in front of the stores. They were used to take goods to the basement. You standing with guitar in hand on one that is maybe lowered about 1/4 of the way. Done in the black and white or sepia tones.

I like the first one. (Going down into the basement pic) Captures the essence of a mellow, artistic album. Also: it matches more with the album title, "Basement Outtakes."

I wouldn't add any people to it, esp. 'hotties.' Takes away from the feeling of being drawn down into the basement. (What will you find? Who is there? Is that where this music I hear is coming from?)

Also: if you could change/add a carpet to the floor: the ceramic tile gives the picture a sense of coldness, while carpeting would give it a sense that the basement is a cozy, warm place: the perfect place to be creative with music.

Just my $0.42.

having just replaced my sump pump, the term "basement outtakes" has a different meaning for me.

if i were you i would focus on your peculiar last name "MANETAKIS" and use the middle picture, just put "manetakis" in a long stretched out font over the top of the cd.

it would be much more memorable and maybe make you famous.

Very true, Daryl. "MANETAKIS" is something that makes you think, what's that? Quite memorable indeed: go for that!

Incidentally, LP Guy, what Les Paul do you have? It's my favorite guitar, I use it all the time on recordings. Mine's a '77 Custom in red wine. Got a '77 SG (yellow) and a '57 LP Junior too - the LP is my favorite though.

Hi LPG,
I'm in a band for a living. Thus, I use the LP a lot for recordings etc. Email me and I'll give a link to an mp3 or something.
Is the Goldtop LP you're looking at a Deluxe? The mini-humbucker is a nice pickup - a great contrast to the straight LP one.

No, it's not a Deluxe, it's a Standard. I always look for originality when buying a Les Paul (like when buying a 911)....There's someting about the STD Les Paul neck and fretboard that I like. I dont really like the slim necks that much...which some of the custom ones have.

anyway, I realize that a good original LP from the 70s is a good investment so I'm looking into getting one...the 69 model would cost about 30 grand so that's out of the question!
