Max,

Beautiful looking steaks but hope you cooked them on charcoal and not gas. Just not anywhere near the same.

BTW, if you ate both of them at one time, you are not in the PPOT group I guess? :)

Sydney, thought you were in Eastern OK. Jeez there is nothing, absolutely nothing (and a lot of it) in Western OK...

for other grill fanatics (yes I grill, bbq, and smoke year around, even at 12F temps on my covered roof outdoor kitchen in Seattle)

GREAT websites full of good guys and recipes and Q-view (meat pics!)

Call it the Pelican website of the BBQ world:

Your waist-line says Thank you Dave!

Jim,

There isnt much in Western Texas either! A lot of it but does not amount to much. Unless you like natural gas wells that is!

I'll throw out an offer as I do on the BBQ meat web forums for smoking/bbq wood, if anyone wants a box of Alder or Maple fresh or seasoned cut rounds from my Seattle woodland acreage. I ship CONUS, and have met some real nice people and repeat customers doing so....

Alder is a nice light sweet smoke, PERFECT on fish/seafood, chicken, pork, dang near about any meat for a light delicate flavor.

I cut up ~3-4" hockey puck thick sized Alder or Maple wood grown on my ranch, or can do 7-11" long ~4 rounds (if you want to stick it out / split it into long skinny pieces for smoking wood).

I Pack it in a $11 USPS flat rate shipping box, and can send you either fresh wet green or bone dry seasoned BBQ/Smoking wood. You get about ~8 pounds of wood, could be 11-12 pounds if you get the green/wet stuff.

I recommend the greener wood for coal grillers, seasoned bone dry wood for electric or gas grillers.

$20 a box, ($11 goes to shipping so it's not like I'm getting rich doing this, more of a flavor favor than anything)

I take paypal.

I'm also open to trades for fresh hickory, mesquiette, or pecan too.

PM me if interested in a wood sale/ trade deal.

Share the smoke and 'Q lovin' with you all.

You ba$tards are not doing my PPOT diet ANY good! Too much more of this and will have to stop by Costco and get some Ribeyes!

Ya, I usually use charcoal in the Weber but the bag was nearly empty. You're correct that you can't compare between the two.

I'm 5'10" at 160 pounds so I don't always eat like that but I'm sure I have some "Wolfman" genes in me somewhere. I just love steak! Damn now I've got to go to the butcher tomorrow!
