Found another Heckflosse
Driving home today, I was cruising down my street, and one of the neighbors had their garage open. I caught the fins of a cream-colored mid 60's Mercedes, did a quick double take, and noted the "220S" on the back. I also noticed the license plate on the back was one of ugly "Wander Indiana" plates....they last used that plate style in 1987.
I'm gonna swing by tomorrow and ask 'em about it! Out of all of the cars I've had/sold, I miss my '65 Heckflosse the most! similar to: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1265339555.jpg |
I still have dreams about reclaiming my 300D.

My parents had one that they bought in grad school as a drug seizure, my dad spent a weekend reinstalling the interior and then drove it for the next 10 years 10 years (until around 1984). There are many pics of me as a small child with that car... then when I was about 3 I used it to practice my spray painting skills. Did you ever know that high-temp enamel will actually buff right off of the factory paint?
It's a miracle I survived my childhood :) |
Ha! I did the same thing with my dad's Bolens tractor....practiced my rattle can skills when I was about 3.

I owned a 220 S in college, loved it. Just driving it would make me smile had the air conditioner in the boot. Four speed on the tree and it really rode smooth and fast. I miss that car.
