I took some pix of my Kel Tec last night, just to see how they'd look with the same backdrop i used for the HK.

Well i modified my Fastfire II HUD with phosphorescent paint to create reference points for super fast alignment of the dot in any lighting. This is a huuuuuuge improvement and looks utterly cool in low light.
The world's only P7 Nachtjager: PIX REMOVED The front sight is also painted in the same paint (i'll be getting a tritium insert in that now). If i see the front sight as i present the pistol now, i know i need to go nose down. As soon as the front sight disappears from the HUD window at the bottom the red dot is clear in the top of the window. This system is lightning fast to align, in any light. This is with 5 coats. I did the iron sights on my Kel Tec too and they came out fantastic. First i painted them white with several coats of high gloss enamel. I'll post some pix later. |

My latest mod: High polished Zinc plated T-20 torx bit grip screws. ;) PIX REMOVED My hand carved and imported Nill wood grips are in the mail on the way to fellow Pelican Targa911 for a professional high gloss polish job. I'll be picking them up in person out in the boonies of Pa in a couple weeks once they're done. For now i'm going to inlay the factory grips lettering with phosphorescent paint, so that "HK P7" glows in the dark on the grip. As for refinishing the pistol, i've been looking at black nickel with high polished silver accents, as well as having all the markings engraved deep enough to inlay. |

Just got my Karl Nill grips back from Targa, they're super high polished and look AWESOME!
I'll take some pix and post 'em tomorrow, when i have proper lighting. THANKS TARGA!!! |
Going to try and get Tim Hancock to adapt one of these...
http://www.laserlyte.com/Laser_Gun_S.../rl-1_main.jpg ...to fit in the rear sight dovetail of my P7, instead of the HUD. I like the HUD, but it's better suited for a long arm. Still a big upgrade over the iron sights, but IMO a laser is still the ultimate close range combat targeting system. (Just my opinion, of course). A complete two tone refinish of some sort is also still in the works. I'm thinking black nickel with high polished slide sides and silver accents (buttons, switches, levers, mags, etc, etc) |
Hmmm, looks like an interesting alternative for a weapon without a guide rod that you don't want to put CT grips on.
|
Not to mention no one makes any sort of laser mount at all for a P7.
Which is kind of cool becuase it ensures any optic you add will make your P7 very unique. |

Just saw this listed for sale on Calguns:
WTS: Sig 1911 Revolution TTT Two Tone. - Calguns.net http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/l...2/L1000317.jpg First pistol I have seen in a while that made me stop and look again. That is a right-purty firearm. |
Wow, that is VERY nice looking.
|
I love the grips. Besides that it's really "just another" 1911.
I wish i'd taken pix of my Springfield Champion before i sold it. |
