I painted a picture

Heavy rain this week so I painted a picture.

Notice the fine detail.

My wife hates it.

I can't imagine why your wife dislikes it. My wife hangs things just like that on the fridge, my 6 y/o would be crushed by such harsh criticism.

I like it.

Palette and style fit well with your interior design.

Think it would look good an that wall.

Stand your ground.

Maybe you should sign it, gives it more credibility.

That's the wall that needed something. I figure if I leave it on the ground for a while, it will grow on her.
That's my plan.
It's on a 5 dollar piece of tile backer board from the hardware store.

I'll take all of the Pollock's that you'd care to throw my way.

Sorry if you didn't understand what he was getting at...

why don't you just buy one of dipsos.? his work shows at least as much talent and depth. i'm sure he'd be willing to let one go for say $10,000.

the painting doesn't really fit the space you've hung it in. feels like it should be wider. hang another identical canvas next to it to sort of fill up the square.

also, that's a hell of a lot of beige you've got there. just go serial killer on some canvas and give the room some color.

I'm not sure, but I think you've hung it upside down...........

Yep now I've looked a little more closely, definitely upside down, trust me on this one!

Nice looking house. Painting isn't my style, but looks OK.

One step at a time. But your right about the width.
I wanted something square but the hardware store only had this.
I was hoping for at least 3'X5' if I had to go rectangular and this was only 30" X 5'

Canvases are too expensive when it just might end up in the trash anyways.
This was my second attempt. You should of seen the first one, it was horrible.

Blue, red, brown, green, gray.
This masterpiece is just black and white.

try hanging it east-west instead of north-south like you have it now. i think that's all it would take to make that mess real "art".

The backer board does not hold screws very well. The whole thing will probably fall off the wall by itself pretty quick. I figure I'll lose a corner or two then.
Maybe I'll hang it sideways at that point.

Assuming the wife doesn't rip it down and kick a hole in it.
