Help with a spoon gift for Dad
OK, I've read all the threads out there about spoons, and just spent all day looking at them on-line. Here's my problem.
I have a Sig P226 Platinum Elite, and I love it. I'd like to get a retirement gift for my dad, and get a matching one for myself as something special for the two of us. I'm thinking about getting a P226 Elite Stainless for the 2 of us, as I love the rosewood grips, and the Stainless look. Here's my problem, I'd like more options as I'm kind of blinded by my Sig and nothing else meets spec. Has to be Stainless, and has to have wood grips. He currently has a S&W .357 revolver large frame. Now that you know my price range and thought process can you guys think of other spoons that would fit the bill? Any other gifts that would be good as a matched pair? I'll post pics for reference  Mine  My next?

Very nice.
I think the rosewood gripped model looks really pretty. ..and I'm stuck with a plain black one

I say get a matched pair of Sig P210-6's
 If you really like the Sig P-226, then maybe look for a Walther P88, or a pre B CZ-75. |

If he already has a S&W .357, how about the king of the line.
A Model 29, the .44 mag is one of the best revolvers ever made.

Well since we're one upping each other....
 Several venders offer hard chromed (looks like stainless) finishes for P7's.  The P7 is one of the few auto-spoons on earth that will actually outshoot a Sig Sauer. Last edited by m21sniper; 02-05-2010 at 08:22 PM.. |

Man, Bill I don't know how you do it. I've only shot a P7 once, with the Luxembourg Police at a Shootfest, and I couldn't get the hang of that cocking grip dealie.
Very pretty gun, but I did lousy with it.

I vote for matching 1911's...... You already have a Sig and he already has a revolver. Can't go wrong with a 1911.

I like the suggestions keep them coming
I've been looking at 1911's, and I like the looks of the Springfields, but Souk's commentson his are not the first I've heard about quality with them. My dad is also rather frugle, so I want to get a caliber that he will shoot. I know he thinks that .45 ammo is way too expensive (his words not mine). So if it is a 1911, I think he'd use a cheaper caliber like a 9mm.
I want it to be special, but I also want him to use it, not just leave it in the cabinet. I'm taking a look at all your suggestions so keep them coming. Some are truely beautiful, in a manly sort of way...LOL

You could get a matched pair of HK Elites, or something:
Perhaps a matched set of pocket pistols for you and dad. Kahr just came out with a new $6-700 cadillac of a pocket pistol. Ruger LCPs are nice too.

I have one of these, nice pistol. You can get it in .40 SW and get a 357 Sig barrel for around another $100

I have a Kahr MK9. Love it. Wood grips on it would be even better.
