How are you east coast guys doing with the snow??
I was up at 6:30 this morning. I have spent the whole day plowing, and then getting the plow truck unstuck. At one point early this am, we had my plow truck stuck, my jeep stuck ( which was trying to pull out the plow truck), and my neighbors truck stuck ( trying to pull out my stuck jeep). What a friggin' day. I just went out and plowed our road, the townships plow truck has not been through since 7:00 am.
The good news is , I have my driveway open ( about 350 yards), and I have both my neighbors driveways open, the one is a mile and a half. And I have my shop's lot open again. Now I have to take a generator down to one of the rental houses, because a huge tree fell ( not on my property) but it took out all of the power lines on the street, and pulled them off the side of the house. While this is kind of cool, for a one time event, I don't know how you guys who get snow like this on a regular basis cope with it. Summer is right around the corner , right?

I find the creative use of 4 letter words, and the ability to knock someone off their feet with a snowball the best coping mechanism I have.

This is the most I have seen in Delaware in the last 15-20 years. Went out 4 wheeling to get coffee around noon. No-one on the roads. It was pretty harsh. We must have gotten another 12" since then.

I live in NWW, NJ the entire town is with out power. Fox news says 76,000 Cape May County residents with out power could take 4 to 6 days to restore. A friend of mine is a LEO said a utility pole snapped and fell on a house catching the house on fire. At least it isn't flooding.

I'm about an hour NW of you in New Castle. My drive is 300 ft. Even with my green machine it took 3 hours to clear both ends. Didn't get stuck but we had at least 18" here.

Snow??? Piece of cake. Even our dog (in orange) was undeterred, hanging with her pack.

I wish I had a camera with me last night. My wife and I were walking the dog and saw a guy, riding a bicycle down the middle of the snow-packed street, holding an umbrella that he was hoping would keep the snowfall off of him. Pretty hilarious sight.

That's what we call February where I grew up (snowbelt in SW Ontario). But I do understand you guys aren't as prepared for it, so it's more of an impact. It does make me think that human beings were not meant to live in this kind of climate, what with being hairless and all. 5 weeks till Florida...
Stay warm guys, and think of summer P-car cruising.

You guy's can blame me. I bought a snowblower last August. We've had maybe 4 inches since Dec. I start my snowblower every couple of weeks just in case I need it.

That looks like my yard now. There's a little over a foot around the vehicle, but more than 5 feet at the corners of the driveway. After the plow finally plowed our road, the driveway was plowed in with a pile as high as the trunk of the Taurus.
Any anyone who wants the snow can COME AND GET IT. I can't stand it. I wanna get out of PA eventually. |

next to nothing here in the NYC metro area.
In fact, I think the salt they dumped in preparation for the big storm is deeper than the accumulated snow fall.

Not really. With clear roads, probably 2.5-3 hours away. In this weather, probably closer to 5-6 hours.
