Win? No, I wouldn't say they won the superbowl. More like received it. As in a gift.

This was a rare Superbowl in that I didn't care who won and wasn't rooting for either team.
Still, I was amazed at the non-calls on the saints offensive linemen with sticky fingers, that BS personal foul call in the first quarter for hitting out of bounds when the ball carrier hadn't actually touched the out of bounds yet, and the non-calls for defensive pass interference. There were many examples of the colts being home-towned.

Saints get the W, but with an asterisk.

I honestly thought the Colts would tear the Saints apart. But it's all good! I'm very happy for them and New Orleans. They need a win.

Thank you. We lived through Bum, Ditka, Mora et al, and still we continued to make the HARD 5 hour drive down to watch 'em. We had our bags, but through it all we had some fun times. It was just so hard driving home Sunday evenings listening to "Buddy D" and having to get up @ 5 the next morning to go to work disappointed again. I think of so many of the season ticket holder who I would have loved to seen smile if they had lived this long. And yes, the entire state needed it. This crew is a true TEAM, not just a bunch of "hotshot superstars".

(For you true Saints fans, it's a joy to be rooting for someone other than "Fetch Monster" like we used to have to do).

Congratulations to your state and Saints fans everywhere! I was really rooting for them once I got over the heartbreak of my Vikings losing. The only thing that mitigated that painful loss is that at least I like the Saints and their fans. FWIW, that's the way most people in MN. seem to feel. We really wanted to beat you guys but it was not to be and now we're thrilled for y'all. And it is a Cinderella story after so many years of having a losing team that people still stuck by. I've never been to N.O. but I'd love to go someday soon.

Don't know how long you've been following them but the best athlete from my HS played for the Saints in the '80s, Russell Gary. He's also a hell of a nice guy and still lives there part of the year. Just saw him at our 30 year HS reunion in '07.

Ya think they're partying down there in N.O. tonight?

Im so sick of this talk about how bad the city needed this!!! And how great the fans are!! Lets see how this win fixes all the degradation in that decrepit city. Ill bet it will be the same a year from now. Has anyone noticed how the only parts of the city that got fixed back up are the rich parts of town and of course the party areas?

No one said it will "fix" the city, and maybe things will be the same next year as they are now. So what?

The SB win gives NO something to be happy about. Nothing wrong with "dat!"

I missed the outcome by 7 a side, but if you ever put money on an AFC team when playing against an NFC team, expect to lose it. Cool Brees delivered. 32 of 39, that's remarkable.

It was a good season for the Colts, but everyone saw it coming, very similar to what pats fans experienced when the Giants prevailed a couple years ago.

I can't help but mention that a former Saint punter and coach taught me how to spin a tight spiral off my right leg.
