Brain trust request.
Hopefully this is simple. I have a small infrared heater. It is a several years old. It quit working all of a sudden today. The only thing I noticed is it was not making heat. I took it apart and found this was the problem. It has 0 ohms of resistance and as soon as I bypassed it the heater started working. I will not use the heater until I have this temperature fuse thingy replaced.
The text on the side of it is: 1st line: Microtemp 2nd line: SLCAKD 3rd line: G4A01 4th line: TF 104C My real question is what is the name of this thing? I assume it is a thermo limit switch. I just want to go to the electronics shop and ask for the right thing. I will bring it with me but I don't want to ask for "one of these gizmos." Will a typical radio - computer store (not Radio Shack) have one of these? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266190172.jpg |

Ok, thermal fuse is the term. Now I just need a local source.
Thanks! |
Do a local search on electronic supply houses. There is one in every city, also try a place where you can build your own computer.

Radioshack has them. I just bought some the other day to fix the blower resistor on my Jeep.
