There's been this ad on CL for a 914 for about 2 years now, exact same ad, reposted ever 2 weeks. I've called a few times and left messages, emailed, two friends have as well...never get a reply. 2 years I've seen this ad.

So I just called and got him, he was very nice in the intro hello (I'm glad I've reached you I said to which he replied how can I help you) and when I said I'm calling about the 914, his voice immediately changes to stressed-out and he says he's going out to a class, can I call tomorrow. He hangs up immediately. Crazy!:confused:

Any thoughts on why someone would run this ad for 2 years?

It is going to take a fair amount of work to get everything up to snuff and some attention to details, but it is in overall good condition.

Just a guess, he doesn't want to sell it, the CL ad is to shut his nagging wife/mother/landlord/whatever up.

He is definitely a serial killer.

There's a guy in my town selling the same immaculate 997 every two weeks for a killer price. Not sure what his scam is, but it's clearly a scam. I asked him where I could see the car, and he wanted all kinds of info from me to establish my bona fides etc/ before he would show it to me. I told him to take a hike. But he's been advertising this same car for over a year now.

Some people are just weird. Why waste brain cells trying to understand them.

If you do meet him and he kills and eats you can I have your 73T Coupe?

Very funny you should bring that up - I actually saw that ad on CL the other day and was going to call about it. Now I'm thinking better of it. Besides, I think another car project at this point would put me on the fast track to permanent sleeping quarters on the couch. :D

I had a 914 out in CA for a while. Fun, but I've got my hands full with other stuff right now. Maybe someday or if a good deal falls into my lap or something, but I'm not exactly in a hurry to run right out and get another one anyway. $2k for that one seemed pretty good though.

It could be a prank where his 'buddies' put the ad up so he keeps getting calls.
