11lbs in 2 weeks with Mayo Clinic Diet.

Let me start by saying I have no vested interested in promoting the Mayo Clinic diet book.
http://www.mayoclinic.com/diet

My wife got this book about a month ago, and we started putting it in practice two weeks ago today. We're eating way more fruit, vegies, and whole grains than we ever have before. I have to say it hasn't been hard in the usual way a diet is.

I feel like I'm eating all I want, and am very satisfied after I eat. I guess it's less of a diet than a lifestyle change, and it's a change I can live with. I also dropped the diet Dew I was drinking all day long. I'm sure that has made am impact as well.

I've done low carb before and lost weight, but that's not a 'diet' I could maintain forever.

FYI, I'm 5'10" and went from 210.5 to 199.5 this morning.

Just thought I share.

I haven't done the exercise part. I know I should, but I just haven't.
That's one part of the book I have totally blown off...
Your supposed to only watch as much TV as you exercise. ie 30 minutes or so a day.

What's a "clinic" diet?
I thought mayo was fattening.

The book is published by the one and only Mayo Clinic.

There's 2 Mayo Clinic diets, the real one and a fad one.

Don't do the fad one, stick to the real one: The Mayo Clinic Diet - MayoClinic.com/diet

Good for you 71T. Even whole grains are basically filler other than barley & REAL oatmeal.
The only problem with eating healthy @ veggies, fruits, low fat meats is it's expensive and takes time to prepare. But well worth it.

Good question!

As this is less of a 'diet' and more of a lifestyle change I hope it doesn't all come back. Although even during the first two weeks there have been days where I've been up.

I need to start getting to the gym until it's nice outside. Then it on to the bike.

Fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean meats is a lifestyle I can live with.

i dont know if i want ot change my lifestyle. i like to eat the bad stuff. never been much for the fruits and stuff. even when i raced bicycles. i use to say, i only raced so i could eat more, problem is, my food intake has not changed, i just dont ride anymore. now i say i am working on my Harley body, its just about there.

my new diet ijust started sunday? my wifes cooking. we both got food poisoning form some steaks. i had to tighten my belt another notch today. 3 or 4 more of the wifes "diet meals" and i will be at my ideal weight.

i was usually around 165 when i raced, still a bit heavy, i should have been around 150, but even when i tried i could not lose the weight. i did the atkins diet, got down to low 140's, but it screwd my heart up, i never could recover from hard efferts like i use to. not long after i new the biking was over.

good luck with it and more power to ya.

197.5 this morning. That makes 2 pounds this week, and 13 so far.

I really need to start exercising...
