Race spoons
I love the look of race guns. I figure i'm not alone. Anyone here have one or more race guns?
P7 Race guns are of course my favorite. Not many around, but there are a few: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...7M13target.jpg P7M13 Longslide http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...gLaufGross.jpg Another P7M13 longslide http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...rp7racegun.jpg P7M13 full race http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...dp7m13race.jpg P7M23 full race o.O http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...openpistol.jpg Another HK race gun |

Han's blaster definitely qualifies as a race gun. :D

Mine, design and build by yours truly:
Trip Research (now STI) frame Caspian Slide Schuemann Barrel (.38 Super) Titanium (almost) everything else http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266549044.jpg |
Hey bro might i ask about how much $ that cost to build?
My dream gun is a titanium framed P7. (never been made, but i can dream!) |

Well my friend i think it's beautiful.
How's this for a 1911 race gun? http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...arbine-tfb.jpg |
Race guns are neat. My local smith has a completely tricked out Glock 21. The trigger is lighter than anything I've ever shot, holes everywhere to 'reduce reciprocating mass', compensator, blah blah blah. They really are kinda like the F1 of spoons. Really neat to have, but not at all practical or good for anything other than competition. His Block will only feed and extract certain types of ammo, my Colt has fed and extracted everything I could get my hands on in .45acp including 4 different peoples home loads.

Depending on the application, with today's gunpowders, the Schuemann barrel may not be needed. Now I am building a high capacity (STI frame) in .45 as a conceal carry. |
Okay, I'll play.
Here are the two I used to shoot in USPSA matches along with yours truly not taking advantage of their capabilities :D Such a (no pun intended) blast to shoot. No muzzle rise, 29 round capacity, ungodly fast cycling, and OH so LOUD. I hated to lend my gun to someone to try because you just couldn't stand next to it. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1266682409.jpg <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yNV8T6wEnQs&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yNV8T6wEnQs&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> |
Very cool!
I've been making inquiries about getting extended mags made for my P7 as well. You know, for zombies. |

Went I got my black 870 shotgun I almost tricked it out...
Then when I added up the cost of the parts it was equal to the price of the gun! I suppose if I had money to burn I would have a couple race guns along with a closet full of other fun to shoot items. Such is life. |
I almost bought a really nice Rem 870 riot gun with 8 shot tube and beat up old wood furniture(but a good finish) last week for $250.00
I shoulda bought it. :-/ |
Sight picture of my Fastfire II equipped P7:

I don't know Rem's enough to know the difference between the models. It was chambered for 3" shells. I thought it was a perfect zombie blaster, just didn't have the loot on me at the time i saw it.

Some light reading for ya

It had a nice finish, so it was probably an express. My uncle has had a Rem 870 Express hunting gun for decades and i have shot it many times. I would be fine using that if the zombies came.
I'd saw the barrel down to match the mag tube on my uncle's 870, but beyond that, it's ok. The one i was looking at had either a 7 or 8 shot tube already installed, and i would guess it was at least 25 years old, maybe older- judging by the condition of the wood furntiture. Thanks for the heads up on the differences. If i was buying the shot-spoon for full time LEO or military duty i would surely want most of the features of the police model. I should have never sold my Beretta. :( http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...RETTA_1201.jpg Beretta 1201FP semi auto 3" 12ga with Benelli recoil operated action system. |

BTW, if you're looking for someone to build you some extended mags, you might try Jim Anglin at Sailors Custom Guns. Not only does he build fantastic pistols with triggers so sweet you wanna cry, he's quite good at fabbing hi-cap Caspian mags. |
