P7 police trade in heads up
If anyone had been planning on grabbing a P7 before the police trade ins dry up and the price goes up, now might be the time.
Posted today on HKPRO: " I just called CDNN and they have a couple PSPs left for $649." Once those are gone these pistols will start climbing in value and will probably never go back down again. In 3 years i fully expect you will not be able to touch any kind of P7 in good shape for under $1000.00 Just figured i'd give the board a heads up. ![]() Target shot by me at 10yds with my box stock Grade B P7 police trade in. All of the ''cops'' around here carry blocks.
BTW, P7's are awesome.

I wish there were some reliable info on whether there are more in Germany that will end up in the US. Last time I was in Germany, every cop I saw carried a SIG P225/P6. I saw a few NJ staties carrying P7's about 12 yrs. ago.

My P7M8 was a NJ Police trade-in. Do they mill the dept. markings off of the slide like on the NJ P7M8's? I had ~90% of that removed when mine was refinished, but it was still always a visual defect
![]() These are cool guns, but I just can't imagine people paying $1k+ for P7 PSP trade-ins when they can still buy Danish P210 trade-ins for $1200-$1500. Last edited by Shuie; 02-16-2010 at 07:03 PM.. |

No milling is done to the slide, no.
You can get the P7 trade ins for $650 right now. Here's my Lower Saxony gun: ![]() |

Call CDNN and order it (ask for Jerry). They have a list of FFL's in your area and will ship to whichever one you say is closest or cheapest. Then you call and give the FFL a heads up that you have a gun in the mail, he calls you when it arrives and you do the paperwork, wait out MD's waiting period and then take it home.

Thanks. Rick...I didn't know what CDNN was!
Just got off the phone with Jerry...they will not ship to Maryland ![]() He mentioned I might ship to another state that ships to Maryland but the transfer fees may make the deal less appealing. Wow. They have three left in black, factory grips, graded excellent.

My home-based FFL in Fairfax was shut down last year. I think Virginia Arms in Manassas has pretty low transfer fees. Or call Jerry back and ask him the names of some FFL's in VA nearest you (I know that's actually pretty far). Find out which one's have the lowest fees. The good news there is that FFL's can use the post office, so shipping is not bad. Here in Phoenix I have a guy who does transfers for $10!!!!!
Another possibility is to call Realco Guns in Upper Marlboro and ask them to order it for you. The owner there is the uncle of MPerkins, one of the DC area Porsche crew. I think he used to post on Pelican. He's a close friend and would vouch for you/me if you need it.

Stupid question...would they have to send it to a Maryland FFL or can I pick it up in person.
Don't mean to be simple, but some things are hard to avoid.

I think you'd have to go to the FFL in VA, do the paperwork, pay them and then they ship to an FFL in MD. I don't think there's any legal way for a MD resident to buy a handgun in VA and take it back to MD with them. Long guns, probably. Handguns, no way.
