What makes Pelican great...
folks like Tim Hancock do.
I have a wide format printing press for silk screen that can go up to 49 inches...maybe next summer I can do some Porsche posters...and it would do 23x31 frames on the horizontal just fine, but the way the mounting bar for the screen clamps was made (square Al tube over round and welded), I couldn't do 23x31 on the vertical, which would make life so much easier. What needed to be done was cut the welds, grind them down, cut the square tube down and then re-weld. it's one thing to call a few local places and explain and get quotes and then, more likely than not, have them screw up the job. It's another to be able have the job done with a 100% guarantee that it will be done right. A PM to Tim, he agreed to do it, didn't want to take a dime to do it (there are ways around that), I shipped the tubes out, they were done in a few days and he shipped them back. Of course, they are perfect. Just got them mounted back up. It's people like Tim Hancock that make the Pelican community great. Thank you Tim! ![]()

Hey, we can send our welding to Tim, our gunsmithing to Targa, our lubrication needs to Lubey and our wives/SO to Moses for pelvic exams.

That thing looks like a contraption out of one of the Saw movies.

If we had a country full of Tims the world would be a much different, and much better, place.

He hand made some airplane parts for myself and several friends a couple of years ago. Really pulled us out of a jam as these are parts for a 1940's model airplane that simply are not available. Too boot he did not have much in the way of blueprints to work with.
Recieved them on time and they were a work of art. Everyone was very happy with the quality and Tim did an excellent job. Could not be happier with the parts and could not have done them without him. Only bad thing is that I am very envious of his having a workshop/hangar next to his runway. Am going to be polite and not say much about his living with three beautiful ladies and having a selection of cars, bikes and airplanes to play with! ![]() Joe A

I did a lot of silk screen printing working my way through college. Loved/hated it but sure was fun to make anything you wanted on shirts and so on.

It always feels good to help someone out when the task at hand is something I happen to have the equipment and skills to accomplish easily. I am pretty good at and enjoy the challenge of fixing/building stuff, but I am a lousy business man when it comes to doing jobs for money. The several guys I do aircraft annual inspections for are making out good.
![]() ![]() ![]() Shaun easily has sent me the value of the job I just did for him in clothing for my nephews over the years. Besides that, I kind of felt just a "little" bad for snubbing him publicly here during the last election. (I still am disgusted by the outcome... but I will admit I was an @ss in the way I expressed it)

Ya... I do that with decals all the time... My dad has some stuff to thermal transfers on shirts but not silk screen.... He did one job and used a buddies equipment and said enough... Too labor intensive...

You might want to bolt that thing to the floor now.
Nice story. Let me know when you need more artwork done.
