Rod Emory's Outlaw being raffled off...
I held off as long as possible on telling Pelican this, since I expect you guys will crush this raffle in 2 days...
Rod Emory is raffling off his '53 Outlaw 356 to support Limbs for Life. He's had a close association with them for some time, having Chris drive his GT3 and such. Donate $100 to win my Porsche $100 a ticket, 2000 tickets total. Tax deductible. You can also use Limbs For Life Foundation | Enter to Win a Porsche if you want to learn a bit more about the charity. Enjoy... Oh, if anyone thinks that this should be linked on any of the tech forums, please do so.

I'm in. I feel lucky to be in this area and watch the Emory's do their thing on the track when I'm not out there. They are a big part of our vintage racing scene in the northwest. I've got the trip planned in my head to go pick up the car and drive it back to Seattle

Apparently there are still lots of tickets available! Bumping this in hopes that some of you peeps got some Christmas money burning a hole in your pockets!
Yeah yeah, I'd rather have a higher chance of winning too, but this isn't about the car, it's about the people who will get a new lease on life with their prosthetics!

Just bought one--don't know how I missed this--come on folks 300 tickets to go for this car to be raffled--100 bucks for a chance at a sweeet P-car.

What do the taxes run on something like that if you win? What's the car valued at? $100k?

Valued at $120K (that is referenced on the tickets as well, so I assume it's the number you'd need to bring to the DMV).
Taxes are based on the car being added to income, which means it's not due until April next year. Add that $120K to your actual income, and see how much it kicks you up the tax tables. Should be about 30-35% total (federal, state, etc).

I'm in. Great cause and something to dream about winning. Oh, how I'd love to drive to town for coffee in that ride.

I don't know why you all are worried about what taxes are going to be, where you're going to store it, etc. because I'm winning it. You can rest easy knowing it will be happy in my garage and that you won't owe the IRS any more $'s. To make room I'll have to donate my SC to some good cause

E-mail Craig Gavras at cgavras@limbsforlife.org if you're concerned, he gets the actual payment order. I bought a ticket about 2 hours ago, and had no issues.
