Buck Rogers Spoon

I found my .22 pistol today at a local gunshow. This is a stock photo as my camera has crashed. They have been reissued but mine is an original. They were only made for one year (1957or 58) with a total of 14,000 produced. Looks like a ray gun.

Anything special about it besides rarity?

Accuracy, chamber, cycle rate, sights?

Not really. The reviews are good. It's called a Whitney wolverine. Supposed tack driver in it's day Poor marketing killed the original. I bought because it was cool looking mostly.

Dude, what's not to like about Duraluminum Alloys?

I am all about the Monobloc.

Still, me like.

A good find David, have never had one in my hand. Does the bolt handle call to mind a Luger or is that just me? A Beretta Neos as a whole seems to favor the Wolverine a bit also.

Hey Jim, yes very luger like. But it pulls straight back rather than fold like a Luger. I've had it apart already and it's a pretty complicated machine. Lots of little parts that fall out when you pull the slide out. I know where they all go now :-)

Paul. mono it is. Stamped "ALCOA" under the grips. This one was a painted version that is all but gone. I have since found out they made 900 that were nickel. Now that's what I'M talking bout!

Looks like what would happen if Chip Foose got hold of a Walther PPK

LOL now that's a possibility. At only $39.00 new, I'm sure it was on every kids letter to Santa in 1958.

Hey sniper, yer grips are starting to look real good. 3 hand rubbed coats now. They sucked up oil like they were sponge.
