Got me a new Parts Getter !
1948 Chev 3100. 6 cyl, 2 wheel drive
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1267323500.jpg It Runs! I drove it home today. |
One of the (many) things I love about NM. Plenty of old pick-em-ups with zero rust.
|
It's perfect. I love the patina.

Old chevy pick-up
Sanford and Son go bankrupt?
|
Nice. Looks straight on this side!
My recommendation? Paint the wheels and get some dog bowl hubcaps. Leave the rest alone. (Is that rainwater on the driveway?) |
Sweet! I'm for keeping it ''as is'' too.

Cool truck!
The first truck I owned was a '52 GMC 3100, which is essentially the same as yours. I traded a Datsun 1600 for it and some cash. It was my daily driver back in the mid '70's, but then, I guess it was only 20-some years old back then. yikes... |
My wife wants a truck like that....seriously.
|
Any comments from the neighbors yet?
|
Very cool!!
|
Keep your eyes open for an Offenhauser 3x1 carb intake. I have one on my straight 6 Mustang and it really livens up the engine!

SWEEEET. My FIL has a 55ish 3100 with a stake bed. It runs like a sewing machine. I have borrowed it on occasion. Really a sweet ride.
