My grandma kicks @$$
She's 92 years old.
She has lived through WWI, the 1918 flu epidemic, The Great Depression, WWII... Her mother, a Ukrainian immigrant who came to the USA to escape the pogroms, had 11 abortions before deciding it was time to have her first child (my grandmother). The next two children didn't survive past 1 year old. The next and last grew up a spoiled, self-absorbed flake (I'm being kind here). My grandma is still sharp as a tack, more than holds her own in Scrabble, eats the NYT Sunday crossword puzzle for breakfast, and roots for the Yankees (she thinks Yogi Berra is the bomb). She is a delight to talk to whether the discussion is about her childhood or current events. Here she is a few weeks ago celebrating her 70th wedding anniversary with my grandfather: ![]() Oh, yeah, she also taught me every curse, insult, and rude remark I know. ![]()

You are lucky!
My grandparents are all deceased. While I loved them considerably, they never kicked a$$. Kinda wish they did. Larry |

Give her a hug, I never knew a grandma, had a grandpa around until I was 10. Parents have been gone for some time also, our time here is fleeting.
