Not an Acura but the next closest thing to a CL. I have a loaded Accord V6 Coupe and has been a great car. 100,000 miles and feels new yet, No issues and all service records. The V6 has plenty of power and ride is firm and controlled. I drove the CL and thought it was a great ride. I was looking for a CL but there are so few in the area due to no dealer in town. Acura dealer is opening in a month.

Get a PPI if it doesn't have records for service, same for the TL

last July, after selling our beloved 04 Pilot, I bought my wife a "Lease Returned" 06 Acura TL with 20,000 miles. So far, it's been great. The nicest sedan we've ever owned. Recently took it on a trip from Sacramento to Carmel and back. Very nice.

I'm on my third one. 1999 TL, 2003 CL, 2007 TL. All very good cars. The mid generation-2002-2005(I think) are known for bad auto transmissions with many having been replaced including my 2003. Acura gave an extended 7 yr warranty on these transmissions after a class action lawsuit .

In summary, well equipped, nice styling, dependable and good power at a reasonable price.

We have a 2005 TL. No mechanical problems in 60K miles. I've heard the tranny clunk under hard acceleration a couple times, but that's been it. The autobox has a known problem problem for a couple of those years. My wife (her car) still frequently gets complements on its looks, particularly in light of the ugly new TL.

I've have been driving a 2005 TL for 2 years as my DD. No major problems - power window wouldn't go up and power steering leak - both covered under extended warranty. I had heard of the transmission problems of earlier year models, that is why I extended the warranty period out.

Very comfortable and fast. I have nav and integrated phone - both come in handy. I too get complements on it all the time.

Years ago, I had a 1990 Acura Integra GS. Fantastic little car!

My friend has a 200X TSX - again - a wonderfully engineered car.

IMO, the Acura line is one of the most underrated cars around.

I have an 05 MDX. With the exception of a bad ac relay that caused a battery drain issue it's been flawless. Purchased certified used and now has over 70k. A buddy has a similar vintage TL, same story, very happy with it. I just drove the new TL as a service loaner and that thing was nice but they sure screwed up the styling. I've always thought previous generations looked pretty good. Another friend had the gen II car and had tons of problems including several transmission issues.

I am sold on Honda. I have been driving my '98 Integra like I stole it for 160K, had to replace the radiator, only unscheduled maint. Dead solid reliable, sweet shifter, outstanding 4 cylinder, best handling FWD car I have ever driven, better than a lot of RWD cars.

No surprises at all, wonder if I would be saying that if I had gotten the A4 Audi that was my other option...

My significant other has an '08 TSX as her car. This is basically the European Honda Accord.

205 hp...but it doesn't feel like that much power. My mom has an '03 Passat with the 1.8t and 170 hp, and that car feels like it would have that Acura for breakfast! That stupid iVtec crap only makes numbers to sell cars. It is a nice car, but it has zero personality; it is really just an appliance for the road. As to reliability, there's no telling. Honda, just like all the Japanese makes, has cheapened their cars in recent years. Two years ago I sold my '76 Honda CB-750-four motorcycle, the one that I kept in my living room, and which started on the first kick of kick-starter every single time. THAT was a quality vehicle; modern Honda's are just barely better than American cars.

Caveat emptor-

Acura for a DD

Thumbs up on the Acura. I bought a 2001 CL third hand with 112,000 miles on it in 2006. It now has 160,000 and runs great. It's one of the best cars I've ever owned. I took a 6,000 mile cross country trip in it. Cruised about 80 mph on the interstates, got about 29 MPG. Very comfortable car with nice seats and interior. Loads of power and good handling. Repairs, I replaced the starter and had the front end aligned, that's about it.
