Porsche Tractors

Always been looking at one of these and now I might just have found the right one last week. As I was walking through a hangar full of tractors I spotted the below Porsche, leaning against a wall and obviously in a pityful state.
The guy I was with told me they used to work the land with 6 of these, good equipment still now despite appearances. We didn't really discuss a price but he was thinking some 1000 euro.
The exact model is a 217 20ps from 1960, at least that what it looks like when I compare the grill. They are not rare at all, 125,000 have been produced over the years.
Any thoughts, insights or comments? Something tells me I might want to look at a fully restored sample but than again restoring is part of the fun i guess.

1000 euro will buy a lot of things for the 911... And you can drive it on the road. I suppose you can have fun while rebuilding it but I just don't see a point when your 911 could get your time & money. I vote for No.

The price is right. I've never seen a cab like that on a Porsche. It appears to be very well designed. The cab would enhance its value to a collector. Go for it!

If you are going to buy a tractor why not make it a Porsche?

I always thought the coffee tractors were cool.

They're quite collectable in certain circles. If you're not handy with a wrench, just buy it and shoot it all over with some guards red paint. That's what all of the DAPOs of my cars have done.

I think thats in exactly the condition you want it in. No need for paint. Just clean up electricals and mechanicals and have a vintage looking tractor.

I would jump on it. Back when I was shopping for a small tractor, guys were asking $10,000+ for the Porsches. I settled on an old Ford 8N instead.

I'd jump on that if it's reasonably functional.
