What is my liability if any?????

Just thought I'd pass this along for some of your input.. I recently ordered a product online but cancelled it before it shipped. My wife went completely out of her mind because it cost over a thousand dollars and I did not discuss it prior to the purchase so in order to stay married I cancelled... The guy I spoke with said it was already on a truck to be delivered but all I had to do was refuse it and it would go back and be credited back to my account. Here's the problem.. I never received this item!!! Apparently some a**hole dropped off a thousand dollar item on the doorstep with no one at home or he kept it for himself, either way I did not obtain possession of it... Please tell me that I'm not responsible for someone elses bad judgement...

More info, please: UPS? FedEx? Did you purchase insurance on the delivery of the item?

If you used a charge card, you can let them know you did not receive the product you paid for, and they will credit your account, and go after selling party.

Hope this helps,
-Z.

Fed Ex shipped.. Credit card was obtained through the company not a major credit card.. The rest of the details are still sketchy at this time.. I'm waiting for a representative of the company to call me back... The item was a guitar bought through an online music company..

Sorry,
I left some info out.. I called the 24hr line and asked the status of my order # and was informed that it was delivered...
Hopefully I'm jumping the gun.. I still haven't spoken to the salesman responsible for my order...

Get on the companies case hard and now . You don't want a $1,000 "error".

This stuff happens all the time in large shipping companies and the individual departments don't communicate with each other untill someone starts making them look bad. Then stuff happening. Believe me I know.

First, file a lost claim with the shipper and the credit company and include language stating you cancelled the order before it shipped. Make a file of names and times.

If you can't get written guarentees, go into the local delivery hub about 7 am and talk to the center manager and the driver and get statements that you never recieved it.

The shipper and credit companies have insurance to cover all this, you sometimes have to remind them of this. And again. And again.
